We are used to seeing superheroes saving the world and helping people in comic books, cartoons, TV series, and movies, but the actors who bring these heroes to life have taken the role very seriously by bringing heroic acts to the real world. Whether it’s by going out on the streets doing charity work or through an online campaign, many actors have used their influence to help those in need.

Following the steps of fellow Marvel colleagues Chris Pratt and Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans is currently working with Omaze to support families of children with cancer while also giving fans a chance to go through a escape room experience with him. No idea what an escape room is? Let Chris Evans give you an example… with a prank.

Omaze shared a video for the campaign in which Evans teamed up with Trapology to make an escape room at Comicazi, a comic book store in his home city of Boston, and take fans by surprise with a talking Captain America figure. Evans told fans the store is actually a “secret Hydra base” and they needed to find a code to take it down – and that was only the beginning. Watch the full video above.

After noticing the huge sign with the four digit code, these fans had to “suit up” and find an undercover Hydra operative outside the store. With the help of said operative, they were led to the basement of the store where they met with Steve Rogers himself – not without a good scare.

By donating to the campaign fans will be helping Christopher’s Haven, a nonprofit organization that provides homes for kids and families during their battle with cancer. It consists of nine temporary apartments and a community recreation area for the families of children being treated for cancer in nearby Boston hospitals. The activities offered by this organization are coordinated primarily by volunteers, and they include massage therapy, arts & crafts, pet therapy, movie nights, birthday and holiday parties, and more.

In addition to that, the perks that contributors can get (depending on their donation) go from keychains and t-shirts to signed posters and DVDs. The campaign closes on February 3, so fans are still able to make a donation and help Evans’ cause.

Evans might not be a super-soldier just like Captain America, but his powers go beyond as he uses his influence to make the world a better place and motivate others to contribute to a good cause. A superhero doesn’t need to wear a cape and have superhuman strength – it only takes a good heart and the will to help to show they are true heroes.
