The first trailer for the Charlie’s Angels reboot features a totally original dong. Directed by Elizabeth Banks and starring Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska, the official Charlie’s Angels trailer looks at the next generation of Charlie’s Angels promises more action than can be packed into a frame and an exciting new mission overseen by the best and brightest at the Townsend Agency.

Arguably the most intriguing thing featured in the Charlie’s Angels trailer is one of the songs. No, it’s not the song heard in the opening moments (that’s Janelle Monae’s “Make Me Feel”)  but the song specifically created for the film. The title has yet to be revealed but it features three of pop music’s biggest female performers in this day and age: Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, and Lana Del Rey.

Grande, Cyrus, and Del Rey are all seasoned pros when it comes to collaborating on a song, but this is the first time these three, specifically, have joined forces for a song. It’s featured throughout the trailer and at one point, Grande can be heard singing, “Boy, don’t call me “angel”/ You don’t know me,” hinting that this song created exclusively for Charlie’s Angels is going to capitalize on the franchise’s long-running theme of female empowerment and a subversion of patriarchal power structure. It additionally recalls the energy of “Independent Women,”  the Destiny’s Child song recorded specifically for the 2000 Charlie’s Angels film starring Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu.

The upcoming Charlie’s Angels film, which has been confirmed as a continuation of the franchise rather than a reboot, is the third feature-length film featuring the Townsend Agency’s finest, all of which have been made in the image of the TV series Charlie’s Angels, which ran for five season from 1976 to 1981. This time around, Stewart, Scott, and Balinska play Sabina, Elena, and Jane, respectively. It’s revealed in the trailer Sabina and Jane already work for Charlie Townsend and are tasked with protecting Elena, a programmer involved with creating a product which could, in her words, “revolutionize the power industry” but could be fatal if it fell into the wrong hands. Elena is quickly recruited as a member of the Townsend Agency, going undercover so the bad guys don’t find out where she is while also working with Sabina and Jane to take them out.

There’s no word yet on what other songs will be featured on the Charlie’s Angels soundtrack but if they’re anything like this techno-pop powerhouse of a track featuring Grande, Cyrus, and Del Rey, it’s going to be one heck of a good soundtrack, indeed.
